
Founded in 1938, Beyond Housing, The Housing Authority of the City of Bristol, VA, is the second-oldest housing authority in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Beyond Housing is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners which is appointed by the mayor of the City. In addition to creating governing policy, the Board outlines Beyond Housing's long-term goals. The Board also employs an Executive Director to manage daily operations.
Designated public housing agency in the City of Bristol, Beyond Housing currently owns and operates 336 conventional public housing units located in five developments. Our agency administers 307 Housing Choice Vouchers, 39 Mainstream Vouchers, and 74 tax credit units (26 of those are public housing as well).
